Rivers and Roots.

We attempted to move the river 10 feet to the square of dirt where a tree was missing.  It was our attempt to make a memorial to the history of the river, which was unearthed in the last decade or so.  The wishing well which emerged was a anti memorial to the history of the square as a slave market.  Ironically, there are plaques commemorating other events on the square.. something about tea? but nothing about the history we may rather not remember?  How do we remember negative memories?  Do we build anti monuments?  Or forgetorials?

Shirin Adhami - Final Install "it takes 40 seconds to almost-get-arrested"

by Shirin Adhami      special thanks to Mats Horn

After less than one minute fiddling with the first monitor, a man with a military like navy uniform with gold trim marched towards the Convention Center from the Dunkin Donuts Center, or "The Dunk" passageway.   Within seconds another with a fluorescent "security" vest came up the escalator from the opposite direction and the two began to converge on the spot we were attempting to install. We walked swiftly towards and into the bathrooms and when we came out, they were inspecting the monitors. Fortunately the tape hadn't stuck. We said good afternoon and exited through The Dunk passageway, fortunate not to be questioned.
